So it’s that time of year nanaman mga beshie! Baguio Food Crawl – now on its third year… What changed this 2019 is that we did not really focus on how many shops we could cover but on the connections that we are going to make during the crawl… spending time with the owners, sharing stories and trying out their best dishes! We were out to connect! To stay true to our #SupportLocal banner and to discover what sets these restaurants apart from others! So kung G na kayo… Let’s G!
1. The Blind Filter & Kitchen by CafèDeAngelo
Located at Bakakeng Road Baguio City – this wide & spacious coffee shop is designed to serve students of SLU, Mary Heights campus. It’s so close to the big university – and offers awesome coffee and other beverages. They also serve rice toppings, pasta, sandwiches and more! – the shop is designed for students na gusto ng space to study – bright with wide tables for group study din… if gustong tumambay and spend their longer breaks – they have games and really comfy sitting areas… and their menu is student friendly too – not too pricey and serves food for sharing! So when in the Republic of Bakakeng – Blind Filter!
2. Lihim ni Maria
This is Lihim Ni Maria – it does not need introduction na siguro because it has been featured too many times na – in blogs, tv reviews, food fairs din! And whatever recognition they’re getting – it is well deserved and just fitting! What we feautured would be their new location at S Building along PNR – may kiosk sa labas ng building for healthy smoothies on the go and a small dining area and kitchen at the building lobby – where they serve remarkable food! Puto Bumbong dessert in jelly form, champorado with a twist, rice meals and pasta! Everything just goes extra with this team! Definitely a place to bring all your turista friends to experience 2600s gastronomic scene!
3. Fat Belly Project
Meat slabs, unlimited chicken, a wide array of side dishes and dips and unlimited rice, oh! And the desserts are more pang-alis umay before you dig in again! They truly put the fat in belly! No one leaves this place bitin! Strategically located at Leonard Wood Road Terraces – because you might want to walk off all the calories to Session Road after that sinful meal- or to be in a better spot to get a cab if you would want to go straight home to sleep! My most recommended place in 2600 for sulit na eat out with family or friends! Not too pricey mga besh – they have BIG servings for meals to share, buffet options for your big gutom! Just one of those places that you go to for meals na parang laging meron kailangan iCelebrate! Basta. Busog. Sulit. Burp!
So, that wraps up my Day1 of #BaguioFoodCrawl 2019… I hope you check-in to these places soon… take photos, enjoy the food, try something new, be friendly with the staff… this is 2600 and we are a community! #KnowYourBaguio #SupportLocal #ChewsBaguio #EatsploreBaguio
